The EP-1 control unit allows you to set the speed of the blade within a pre-set minimum and maximum speed for each blade type. The aim is to meet the most demanding requirements for abrasive arthroplasty, synovectomy and intra-articular cutting and scraping.
When using the foot pedal, you can control the movement of the blade, selecting forward, backward or oscillating, and the speed can also be controlled from within the unit.

The operator sets the blade speed within a pre-set minimum and maximum for each blade type, and the unit holds that speed under load — the practical benefit being consistent cutting performance in abrasive arthroplasty, synovectomy and intra-articular cutting and scraping, where a blade that slows down under pressure burns tissue instead of cutting it.

Safe Use and Maintenance
Use only handpieces and blades specified for the console; a mismatched blade may run outside its design range.
Check the foot pedal cable and connector before each list — an intermittent pedal is mistaken for a failing console.
Inspect blade and burr seating in the handpiece; a partially seated blade wobbles and damages the joint surface.
Clean the console exterior with a damp cloth only, and keep ventilation slots clear.
Have the unit electrically safety tested at your biomedical department's interval.
